Fatigue, malfunctions and other causes of big rig crashes

Semi truck drivers have a special duty of care. Their large trucks can be deadly weapons if they aren't driven in a safe manner. This means that the truckers have to take steps to ensure that they aren't doing anything that could be dangerous while they drive. Sadly, some truckers have become so complacent that they will try to text, eat or do other activities while they are driving. This can lead to very serious accidents.

Trucker's actions aren't the only causes of big rig accidents. Sometimes, the cause of the truck accident is a faulty component or improper maintenance. Both of these can be deadly. For example, a truck that doesn't have a properly working braking system might not be able to stop in time when the driver approaches a traffic jam. This could lead to a chain reaction of accidents that can cause serious injuries or deaths. These accidents are usually the fault of the component manufacturer or the person who worked on the part last.

Another factor that can affect a semi truck driver is fatigue. This is sometimes caused by the driver trying to drive too many hours in a short period. It can also be caused by driving on familiar roads, driving when they would normally be asleep or driving in a stuffy cab. If the trucker is trying to meet the delivery deadline, the accident might actually be the fault of the trucking company.

For the victims of these accidents, seeking compensation is sometimes a priority. Knowing the cause of the accident can help you as you build your claim for compensation.
